I recently spoke to Jon Fain and Sally Warhaft about the lure of Lotto.
With slogans such as “Dare to dream” and “Wouldn’t it be nice”, lotto companies sell the fantasy of easy money.
But according to psychotherapist Zoe Krupka, that dream is most alluring to those who can least afford it.
She said she had seen clients treat entering the lottery as if they were “buying their golden ticket”.
“There are people who budget for lottery tickets and it’s an issue — money’s always an issue,” she told ABC Radio Melbourne‘s Jon Faine.
